Quick Ways to Involve Your Kids in Your Digital Scrapbooking Endeavors

Scrapbooking can be a lot of fun, there is no doubt about that. There is something about being able to revisit all of those memories and pull forth creativity most people didn’t know they had that makes any type of scrapbooking such a special and important hobby. Digital scrapbooking is just as much fun, if not more so; all of the fun and creativity with none of the mess and a variety of tools to help simplify things is more than most scrapbook enthusiasts could ever even begin to ask for.

Such a useful (and neat) hobby just couldn’t get any better — or so you may have thought. Believe it or not, it can get better — getting the kids involved with your digital scrapbooking ideas is just one more way in which any aficionado can make steps toward maximizing their hobby and enjoying it to the fullest.

Consider these ways to get your kids involved in your digital scrapbooking endeavors, even if they don’t necessarily want to participate — yet.

Center Pages Around Their Life

No matter how old your children are, they have things in their life that are important to them. These things that they hold in the highest of regards are great subjects for scrapbook pages, and all it takes is finding appropriate pictures and a great digital layout to tie them all together to create the perfect setup.

How can you get your little ones involved in this, you ask? It is quite simple. You can have them take pictures of those things that are important to them (if they are old enough to work the camera and responsible enough to be trusted with it). If not, you can also sit down with them and have them sort through the pictures that do matter to them and pick out some of their favorites to use on the layout page.

Get Started on Computer Skills Early

While your little ones may not quite be at the age or skill level to be able to manage a computer in full so as to be able to create a digital scrapbook page, there are things that they can do. Show them how to look at the thousand-plus scrapbooking layouts on the PhotoMix web page; this employs mouse skills that will come in handy down the line as every child has to pick up on basic computer skills sooner or later.

It may also be helpful to show them how to scroll through your library of photographs and point out the ones that they like best for use on digital layout pages. While they may not be old enough to work the computer to the point where they can create their own pages, giving them a chance to get involved in something that you enjoy is always a plus.

These are just a couple of the many ways that you can go about getting your kids involved with your new favorite hobby. Chances are that they have seen you working on your scrapbook; why not ask their thoughts or opinions? Young minds are some of the most creative ones that you will ever come across. Put that to use by getting your kids involved with your digital scrapbooking hobby.
